Professional Experience

Jeff Evans’ practice focuses on general commercial litigation and securities litigation.  He has represented clients, including both individuals and business, in both state and federal court as well as appearing before numerous FINRA arbitration panels. 

Mr. Evans obtained his law degree, with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and semi-finalist in the Myerowitz Moot Court Competition as well as the Assistant Managing Editor of the Journal of Health Care Law and Policy.  Following his graduation in 2000, Mr. Evans was in private practice in Baltimore, Maryland and in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he represented numerous securities broker/dealers and individual registered representatives in litigation and arbitration involving recruiting and raiding issues, such as non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, trade secret protection, non-disclosure agreements, misappropriation of confidential and proprietary information and breach of fiduciary duties and unfair competition appearing before federal and state courts and arbitration panels in connection with temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction hearings.  Mr. Evans has also represented numerous business and individuals in litigation and arbitration involving breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, participation and redemption rights in hedge funds, compliance with SEC and FINRA registration requirements.  In addition to his experience in private practice, Mr. Evans was a senior attorney in the Enforcement Division of FINRA in Washington, D.C., where he led investigations into violations of federal securities laws and FINRA rules.

Mr. Evans has also volunteered with Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Services, an organization providing free representation to Maryland residents with limited income.
